Bernalillo County – Registration is open for the 6th Annual BernCo Sugar Skull Fun Run. The Dia de los Muertos-themed race will take place on Sunday, Oct. 27 and begins at 9 a.m. at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 Fourth Street SW. The ‘Muerto Market’ and festivities will continue until 2 p.m.
Participants can now register for the 5k or 10k fun runs. The race route will follow the Bosque Trail south toward Rio Bravo Boulevard. Walkers and pets are also welcome to participate.

Early bird registration for all ages is $25 per person for the 5k and $35 per person for the 10k. The registration fee includes the much-coveted official Sugar Skull Fun Run long sleeve dri-fit shirt, while supplies last. Registration goes up to $40/5k and $45/10k after Oct. 17.
A ‘Muerto Market’ that features Dia de los Muertos face painters, themed artisans and vendors, food trucks, and music will extend the day’s festivities until 2 p.m. The Muerto Market is free to attend.
Dia de los Muertos attire is highly encouraged for all.
Proceeds from the fun run will benefit the BernCo Quality of Life Community Fund.
The BernCo Quality of Life Community Fund supports responsible and effective philanthropy to enrich community wellness, and social and cultural experiences of Bernalillo County residents and visitors. In partnership with the New Mexico Community Foundation, the fund allows Bernalillo County business community and local residents to support art and cultural experiences, support agricultural partnerships, access to health food, support animal care and public safety initiatives, open space, and recreational opportunities.
